Flat Liner Size Is Not the Finished Pond Size
The 10×15ft measurement refers to the liner when laid completely flat. Pond depth, slopes, shelves and edge overlap reduce the final usable pond dimensions.
- Measure the maximum pond length and width
- Include twice the maximum pond depth
- Allow extra material around every edge
- Add more liner for shelves, curves and irregular shapes

Prepare the Base First
Protect the Liner from Rough Ground
Proper ground preparation helps reduce direct contact between the liner and sharp objects beneath the pond.
- Remove stones, exposed roots and construction debris
- Create a smooth and compact pond base
- Place suitable protective underlayment beneath the liner
- Position the liner without dragging it across sharp surfaces
- Add water gradually while adjusting folds and corners
Installation Reminder: Leave sufficient material around the pond edge for anchoring and final trimming. Do not remove excess liner until it is correctly positioned and the pond is partially filled. Keep sharp tools away from the sheet during installation.
